I’m Freeee!
Elation’s Lighting Wizardry Wows Them
In The Who’s Tommy
He may not be a pinball wizard, but renowned LD and video designer KC Wilkerson
knows a thing or two about bringing major productions to light with stunning
lighting. So we’re honored that a range of our products, including
8 Elation Design Wash LED RGBW moving heads, eight Elation Design LED 60 Strips;
and three Elation Design Beam 300 moving heads were selected for Wilkerson’s
work lighting Chance Theater's production of The Who’s Tommy. It was especially
sweet when we read that one reviewer hailed Wilkderson’s work as “the most
astounding lighting show EVER seen in a small house.” So hop on our “magic bus”
(sorry, wrong Who song!) and
read more about this lighting production.

Elation EVLED Inspires At Victory Worship Center
Founded in the 1970s, Victory Worship Center is a dynamic
rapidly growing house of worship in Tucson. When the church
leaders wanted something special to enhance the experience
at a 3-day worship event, they contacted Creative BackStage,
Tempe AZ. Creative exceeded the church’s expectations with
an LED screen made up of 143 Elation EVLED 1024 SMD LED panels
with set strike and tech. This was the first time, Victory
Worship Center’s production crew ever worked with LED video
panels. Judging from the stunningly beautiful results of
Creative BackStage’s work, we’re confident it won’t be the last.

Lights Out
Seth Jackson May The Force Be With Him
As a child, lighting designer Seth Jackson’s favorite present ever
were some Star Wars toys he received when he was eight. Perhaps it
was an omen. Fast forward a few decades and Jackson’s landmark work
in the Star Wars in Concert earns him international acclaim, along
with the 2010 LDI Redden Award (shared with his collaborators, Steve
Cohen and Bryan Barnick.) There have been many other awards, including
two Parnellis, and many other widely heralded lighting projects
(Toby Keith’s American Ride Tour and American Idol LIVE) that would
make Jackson a lighting legend before he turned 40. Through it all,
though, he’s remained a down to earth guy from the Show Me State of
Missouri, even returning to St. Louis to teach. He’s living proof
that nice guys don’t always finish last – and we’re happy he took time
out to tell us how he relaxes when the lights go out.

Loader On Lighting
Raising The Bar For Nightclubs and Bars
Eric Loader, Director of Sales for Elation Professional and
Acclaim Lighting, left the recent Nightclub & Bar Show in very
good spirits – and it wasn’t from sampling the wares of the
various distillers at the event either! What got Eric’s heart
racing were all of the new opportunities being created in the
nightclub and bar market by products like the Elation EPV video
panels and interactive LEDs like the breakthrough Acclaim Catwalk
Panel, which drew large crowds at our show booth. In Eric’s
view, the newest generation of lighting products allows even
small and mid-sized establishments to generate a level of
lighting excitement that at one time was accessible only to mega
clubs and professional tours.
Pull up a stool and hear more of
Eric’s bar talk.

More Or Less…
Elation’s Platinum Spot 15R Pro Formula:
More Brigthness, Less Power, Smaller Space
In our last issue we covered the Platinum Spot 5R. This month we’ve gone up a few steps to tell you about the new Platinum Spot 15R, a fixture that gives you more (or less) than its predecessors, depending on how you look at it. If you’re interested in brightness, this moving head gives you much more, an output comparable to a 1,200 watt unit. But if it’s space and power consumption you’re referring to, this is definitely a product of less, since it’s only about a third the size of a conventional 700W moving head and draws about one quarter of the power. The secret, of course, is in the 300W Philips MSD Platinum 15R lamp, which brings all the advantages of Platinum technology to concert/arena-scale fixtures. So get in on the secret and
learn more.

Welcome To The World Of WW Tone
The New Elation Warm White LED Wash
Just like some great actors and actresses, the new Elation WW Tone was born
for the stage. The high output 100W warm white LED wash fixture is convection
cooled for silent operation and it has a 3,0000k color temperature 82 CRI.
Its built in DMX control electronic dimmer also makes it a great stage
performer, and did we mention the new Bridgelux™ LED source?
